Signia MaX

Signia MaX is a rechargeable hearing aid whose four coordinated AI systems track speech, noise, your surroundings, and your own voice to keep you clear in busy group conversations.

Following someone's voice when several people are talking at once is one of the hardest parts of living with hearing loss, and that is exactly the challenge Signia MaX was built to solve. Available through the audiologists at Hearing + Balance Clinics in Watkinsville, Loganville, and Lavonia, the Signia Pure Charge&Go MaX is the first hearing aid built on Signia's new Multi-adaptive Xperience, or MaX, platform.

Four AI Systems Working Together

Most hearing aids that use artificial intelligence apply it to a single task, usually reducing background noise. MaX takes a broader approach. Instead of one AI handling one job, it uses four task-specific Deep Neural Networks that work together to analyze speech, background noise, the surrounding environment, and your own voice at the same time. Signia calls this combined approach Acoustic Intelligence.

A Deep Neural Network, or DNN, is a type of AI trained on enormous amounts of real-world sound so it can recognize patterns the way experience teaches your brain to. The four networks in MaX share information with each other continuously, which gives the hearing aids a more complete picture of your listening situation before deciding how to process what you hear.

The four systems handle distinct roles:

  • Speech Detection identifies speech and the people you are talking with in complex environments
  • Own Voice Detection recognizes when you are the one speaking, so the system can account for your part in the conversation
  • Scene Analysis continuously evaluates your surroundings rather than relying on fixed categories
  • Noise Processing analyzes the type and location of noise and decides how much to reduce it

Designed for Real Group Conversations

The goal of MaX is not simply to make noisy rooms quieter. It is to help you stay connected to the people you want to hear while keeping you aware of the world around you. This matters most in the settings people find hardest, such as restaurants, family gatherings, and social events where several people talk and noise comes from every direction. MaX analyzes these changing environments in real time and coordinates processing between both hearing aids as the conversation moves, locating and enhancing multiple conversation partners as they speak while keeping your own voice sounding natural.

Signia reports strong results from its own research, including that 97% of participants performed better with MaX in noisy group conversations compared with key competitors, and that MaX ranked first for signal-to-noise-ratio performance in group conversation in noise. These are manufacturer-cited findings, so we view them as promising evidence that still deserves to be weighed alongside independent testing and your own real-world experience.

A More Powerful Chip

Running four neural networks at once takes considerable processing power. Compared with the previous Signia IX platform, Signia says the new MaX chip provides 54 times more processing power, twice the memory, and 50% greater energy efficiency. That extra capacity is what allows Acoustic Intelligence to stay active throughout your day rather than switching on only for a special listening mode. The rechargeable device offers up to 30 hours of battery life, though this varies with streaming, environment, and battery age.

Broad Connectivity in One Device

The Pure Charge&Go MaX uses Signia's OneConnect Technology, which combines several wireless options in a single hearing aid. It supports Bluetooth Classic, Bluetooth LE Audio, telecoil connectivity, and Auracast-capable hardware. This gives the device unusually broad flexibility across smartphones, streaming devices, and loop systems in places like theaters and churches.

One point worth clarifying: the hardware is Auracast-capable, but Signia states that full Auracast functionality will be enabled through a Signia One app firmware update by March 2027. Until that update arrives, Auracast is not yet active on the device.

Rechargeable and Convenient

MaX is a rechargeable receiver-in-canal hearing aid available in eight color options. It ships with a pocket-size portable charger that stores up to four full charges. Signia reports that a full charge takes about four hours, and a 30-minute quick charge can provide up to six hours of additional use, which is helpful on a busy day.

Is Signia MaX Right for You?

The Pure Charge&Go MaX is worth considering if your biggest listening challenges involve restaurants, social events, meetings, or family gatherings, and if you want a premium rechargeable device that works across current and emerging wireless audio systems. That said, the most advanced hearing aid is not automatically the best one for every person. Your hearing test results, speech-in-noise ability, ear anatomy, and listening goals all matter in choosing the right device.

Technology this sophisticated only performs as well as the fitting behind it. At our clinic, we verify performance using real ear measurement, which confirms how much sound is actually reaching your eardrum rather than relying on software estimates alone, and we use follow-up care to confirm the hearing aids are helping in the situations that matter most to you.
