Oticon Reveal

Oticon Reveal is a rechargeable hearing aid whose dual-AI system balances clear speech with natural awareness of the world around you.

Hearing technology has moved beyond simply making sounds louder, and Oticon Reveal is a clear example of that shift. Available through the audiologists at Hearing + Balance Clinics in Watkinsville, Loganville, and Lavonia, Reveal is a next-generation rechargeable receiver-in-canal hearing aid built around a simple idea: you should be able to follow conversation clearly without losing touch with the world around you.

A Different Approach to Noise

Many hearing aids treat background sound as the enemy and remove as much of it as possible. Reveal takes a more balanced approach. Instead of stripping away your surroundings, it works to find what Oticon calls your "balance point," the point where speech is clear but you can still hear the footsteps behind you, the birds outside, or your grandchild playing in the next room.

This matters more than it might seem. Environmental sound helps your brain orient itself, judge distance, and stay comfortably aware. Removing it can make listening feel unnatural or isolating, even when speech itself sounds sharp.

Dual-AI Sound Processing

Reveal uses two artificial intelligence systems that run at the same time and work together:

  • Speech AI identifies and enhances the voices you are trying to hear.
  • Context AI preserves the meaningful sounds around you rather than discarding them.

These two systems analyze your listening environment every two milliseconds, which is far faster than you could consciously notice, and continually adjust the mix between speech and surroundings. This is Oticon's third generation of AI-based hearing technology, following the More and Intent platforms.

The processing takes place in what Oticon now calls the Reveal AI Clarifier, the part of the hearing aid where speech and environmental sound are sorted and rebalanced. Reveal can apply up to 12 dB of noise suppression when conditions call for it, roughly 2 dB more than the previous platform.

Reveal Optimizer for Feedback Control

Feedback is the whistling sound that can occur when amplified sound escapes the ear and re-enters the microphone. It is one of the most common frustrations for hearing aid wearers, particularly with open or vented fittings that leave the ear canal less blocked.

The Reveal Optimizer is Oticon's updated feedback-prevention system, offering improved precision and additional headroom in the higher frequencies. In practical terms, this can allow your audiologist to deliver more of your prescribed amplification, especially in the high pitches that carry speech clarity, with less risk of whistling.

4D Sensor Technology

Reveal continues to use 4D sensor technology, which considers your behavior alongside your acoustic environment. The sensors take into account head and body movement, conversation activity, and the sound around you before deciding how to process what you hear. A quiet room where you are seated and talking calls for different handling than a busy sidewalk where you are moving and scanning your surroundings.

Connectivity and Everyday Convenience

Reveal includes a new connectivity platform with improved wireless range and stability compared with previous models. Features include:

  • Made for iPhone compatibility and optimized Android connectivity
  • Bluetooth Low Energy Audio and Google Fast Pair
  • Auracast broadcast audio compatibility for public venues such as theaters and airports
  • A Streaming Comfort feature that reduces surrounding sound while you stream calls, music, or podcasts, adjustable through the app or by your audiologist
  • Desktop and portable travel charging options
  • A range of standard colors, including a new Deep Plum finish

For patients with hearing in only one ear, a new Oticon CROS transmitter is available on the Reveal platform. It shares the same chargers as the hearing aid, which removes a small but persistent daily inconvenience.

Who Reveal Suits Best

Reveal tends to be a strong fit for patients who value natural, open sound quality, want to stay aware of their surroundings, and prefer open or vented fittings. If your priority is the most aggressive possible reduction of background noise, a different processing strategy may suit you better. That is exactly the kind of question our team is here to work through with you.
